The Story of Grandpa Michele
A family story, a Puglian story of gastronomic passion, love for traditions but also for authentic tourist itineraries. Grandma Giulia was the housewife , Grandpa Michele the head of the family , 7 children and 17 grandchildren! It was the lunches and experiences shared as a family during the holidays that inspired Grandpa Michele's children and grandchildren to plan an idea with typically Puglian content.
The Origin of the Idea
Every family holiday was celebrated with eager anticipation, with everyone actively participating. Uncles and aunts would bring the freshest fish, mothers would knead dough on the boards, making Christmas cakes, traditional biscuits, panzerotti, potato focaccia, and potato croquettes. It is from the precious foundations of these indelible memories that the "Nonno Michele" company was born today, to tell the story of Puglia through family rituals, through traditional recipes, ancient terms and sayings, typical gastronomic products, local crafts, and tourist itineraries.
Grandpa Michele's Mission
Thus was born Nonno Michele's "mission," creating a high-quality food product with meticulously crafted packaging, environmentally friendly, and rich in traditional ingredients and tourist references. The small and delicious aperitif tarallino , for example, will be named "A'spizzua'," which in Apulian dialect means "to nibble." A tasting of this product will be recommended, featuring farm cheeses, Apulian olives, Primitivo di Manduria wine, and capocollo from Martina Franca. The "A'spizzua" tarallino, accompanied by other products, will therefore take you to the places of origin of local production, introducing you to Puglia's most renowned tourist destinations.
